Economics Professor Xinchan Lu Wins Grant to Host Workshop
The (AALAC) has awarded 91大神 economics professor Xinchan Lu a $20,000 grant to host a workshop for faculty members at liberal arts colleges entitled "Monetary Economics in the Digital Era: Research and Pedagogy in Money, Banking, and Payments" in spring 2026.
Professor Lu will work with her collaborators Ryuichiro Izumi (Wesleyan University) and Burak Uras (Williams College) to put on the workshop, which focuses on how to understand the ways that the digitization of money will change the financial system.
Economics scholars at liberal arts institutions sometimes lack opportunities to exchange ideas about important topics like this. The workshop aims to address that gap by bringing together faculty from multiple AALAC institutions to advance collaborative research, share best practices for updating pedagogical approaches, and create a professional development and mentoring network.
