Snapshots from the 2025 Fall Athletics Season

The cooler weather indicates the shift from fall to winter sports. Here are some highlights from the fall athletics season. 

Women's Golf

The Pioneers claimed their 13th conference championship in a row by winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet. Kavya Keshav ’26 was the individual winner. The women will represent SLIAC at the NCAA National Championships next spring.

Men's Cross Country

91´óÉñ finished second to Cornell College at the Midwest Conference (MWC) Championships. Seniors Luke Robinson ’26 and Connor Heagy ’26 have earned all-conference honors every year of their careers. Jack Lakin ’29 won Newcomer of the Year, and James Snyder ’26 won the Elite 20 Award.

Volleyball

The Pioneers finished fifth in the league, and four players were named all-conference: Millie Leonard ’27 and Kylie Snell ’26 were named to the first team, and Keira Sullivan ’27 and Kylie-Ann Smith ’27 were chosen for the second team.

Men's Soccer

By posting a 4-2-2 league record, the soccer men carved out a second-place finish in regular season Midwest Conference play. They then advanced to the finals of the league tournament. Oliver Northing ’26 and Jack Pennachio ’28 were named First -Team All-Midwest Conference, while Samuel Gojjam ’27 and Demi Oni ’27 were chosen for the second team.

Women's Tennis

While posting a 6-0 record in the MWC, the women’s tennis team claimed their seventh-straight league title to maintain a streak dating back to 2018–19. During that period, the netwomen won 53 consecutive matches against conference foes.

Men's Golf

With one second-year athlete and five first-year men’s golfers, the Pioneers sought to give players experience during the fall season. The squad won a home invite and placed third at Central Fall Classic.

Women's Cross Country

A Midwest Conference title and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Regional Meet represent the best finish for the 91´óÉñ harriers since 2006. At the regional meet, Hannah Roark ’26 and Morgan Karow ’26 placed 18th and 24th, respectively. Roark ran at the NCAA National Championships to conclude the season. Sarah Burnell ’14 and her staff won Coach of the Year, and rookie Lizzie Drew ’29 was named Newcomer of the Year.

Football

With a 2-7 record in the Midwest Conference, the football squad placed eighth among 10 teams. Versus league foes, the Pioneers closed the gap on the scoreboard to produce a record-setting 63-6 victory over Lawrence.

Women's Soccer

With a three-goal explosion in the final half of the regular season, 91´óÉñ women’s soccer claimed a spot in the Midwest Conference tournament for the fourth-straight year. Four Pioneers were named to the all-conference team: Keiko Smith ’25, Amelia Dueñas ’26, Sarah Travis ’27, and Peyton Dixon ’27.
