Jaehyuk Lee
Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow
Jaehyuk Lee is a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chinese and Japanese. His research examines the interplay between memory and political power, with a particular focus on the functions of literary writing within that dynamic. He investigates diverse premodern East Asian contexts, including China during the Three Kingdoms period, under Mongol rule, and late Joseon Korea. He is currently expanding his research to explore the use of premodern historical memory in contemporary media.
